Gel nails are different to acrylic nails as they are not an extension of your natural nails instead they are a polish that can last for up to 2 weeks. The main difference between acrylic and gel nails is how they are cured. What Gel Does Gel clings to the nail when cured and can either be a thick durable manicure or it can be used to build a nail enhancement.
Gel nails can be easily removed without damage to the nail. Hard gel can withstand greater pressure and it is less likely to break or crack than acrylic is. Hard Gels can be used to add length where Soft Gels cannot.
Acrylic nails are stronger cheaper and last longer than gel nails. Acrylic nails are typically less expensive than gels and can last a very long time. Both are very good enhancements when performed by a skilled technician.

Acrylic nails can pose at risk for infection if incorrectly applied this can lead to damage to the natural nail bed.
